Badger Alley
Because it was a quiet day, a few zooms but all production orientated so purposeful and nice, I went on a longer walk at lunchtime and went up what I used to call Holly Walk but I shall rename Badger Alley. It’s a deep sunken lane with multiple badger setts all the way up that are dug out of the sandy soil, among, so far healthy, ash trees that loom into the lane. It’s a bit of a chicken run as I came down here after a storm once and there were two down across the path. Still we made it and cut back across the path only to find cows across the stile which terrifies Woody. I did a bit of shouting and they moved away and he was persuaded to scuttle through.
Quiet supper for us both and we watched an episode of ‘Once upon a time in Northern Ireland’ which was again brilliant but intensely emotional.
