Back to Cornwall
A 5 hour walk train train bus walk journey and I’m here in Polperro again, staying with a friend. It was so nice not to drive. I was trying to get my phone out quick before this fellow flew off, but it stayed put no matter who walked near to it. I hope this was arrogant ownership of that wall, and not illness. I have seen a couple of birds with avian flu, and they didn’t look like this.
One of its relations had a half hearted go at my pasty earlier, before I remembered my ‘eating outdoors in Cornwall covering up’ technique. I had to go to 3 shops before I found a vegetable pasty - not because they don’t bother, but because they were all sold out. There are some serious pasty shop wars here in Polperro, with long held grudges.
I only had to walk 16,000 steps along the coast path before ice creams were suggested, at Talland Bay - a very nice café and all Range Rovers and Teslas squeezing down the tiny lane to the car park. I can recommend Roskilly’s gooseberry yogurt ice cream, heavenly. Especially while staring at the beach and the sea. In extra
