The big anniversary party

In the daytime there was a lot of rain, but because the wind was so strong and fierce, the downpours were very on/off. We went to explore Lostwithiel, which I didn’t know, and found a shop which basically sold gifts, useful items and beautiful things. I bought myself something spontaneously. Not a thing I often do. After a bit more exploring, lunch,  and doing errands, we went to Charlestown, a little town with a picturesque harbour, which is apparently where Poldark, the historical tv series is filmed. It’s in the first extra, with a Thames sailing barge in the foreground.
After going back to Polperro and putting on party togs, and sticking a few diamonds on my face (£5.99 for 40 in Claire’s Accessories!) we drove to  Plymouth They had hired the same bar, in the Barbican, as they had for their wedding day party. This time they had a live band as well as L and various friends each doing a short DJ set. I was easily the oldest person there, but it was fine - lots of their friends know me anyway, and some who didn’t were also friendly and chatty  The main picture shows my dil (right) with her friend who was her best woman 5 years ago   The second extra is my son (also right) with his best man. Unfortunately fuzzy as they were jumping around, but I wanted to include it anyway. You will see the theme was sparkles - hence my diamonds. The final extra is the view from the front of the bar. A really enjoyable evening
