A sea of yellow
I spent the morning delivering leaflets in Longside about this weekend's Mintlaw Gala. It was another warm, windless day, slightly cloudier than yesterday but very pleasant. Longside is a very pretty village, especially some of the older lanes with their traditional cottages and colourful gardens. I was acutely aware of the scents of early summer - bluebells, lily-of-the-valley, wallflowers, but also of the almost overpowering fragrance of the oilseed rape being grown in the fields surrounding the village. No wonder the insects love it! And it certainly brightens up the countryside!
