Sturgeon bay
An afternoon at Sturgeon Bay, looking out on the deep blue horizon of Lake Michigan. The third coast as they say up here in the lakes region. After all, these lakes are larger than many states and many countries. Giant fresh water oceans...and so gorgeous on a good day!
Collecting wasp galls amongst the reeds and fuzzy cattails near shore with our students, learning about predation, parasitism, selection....a long story I won't pass on again. And after, running down to the sands of the lake. Skipping rocks and building skeletal fish out of the stones in the sand. Geese by the water and red wing blackbirds making a ruckus in the reeds. Blue misty purple hues out on the horizon and big heaping cones of ice cream on the way home.
And the days go by...and I am finally catching up on a week behind on my blips!
