Wells on market day
We woke to the sound of the market stalls being set up in the street below our window. By the time we had had our breakfast and got ourselves out there it was in full swing. There was a wide variety of stalls, plenty of food stalls, lots of craft stalls and clothing stalls. I bought two little sun hats for the children we were to meet in the afternoon, and Norman, as always, bought home made chutneys. There was a wonderful happy atmosphere.
After the market we went out into the countryside and found ourselves a pub lunch .
We went to my sister’s house and met a good friend of hers, then made our way to another pub where we met Judith’s son Rupert, his wife and his lovely children, lively two year old Dexter and baby Imogen. I hear so much about them from their Granny Judith, it was good to meet them.
We had a horrible dark, wet and misty drive back across The Mendips.
In extra I have put a picture from Cheddar Gorge, the only spot where there were no cars parked!
