Ruth comes to stay
Ruth left Ipswich at 4.40am and got here at 11. It’s fabulous to have a fun, lively, interesting, positive friend to stay. I couldn’t believe it when she said it was 2007 when she was here last. Subsequently her husband was terminally ill and there was a lot going on, though we met lots when we were visiting in Suffolk.
It rained heavily but after lunch it faired up so we had a 5 mile walk round the moor which she loved. (Here she is in the photo). The heather is not out yet so she didn’t see it in its glory. However it stayed fine till we got back. She and Mr C discussed camper vans and horse boxes while I made the meal. We had pappardelle with tomatoes, capers, olives and harissa then a fruit salad. (Ailie was going to come to have horsey chat with Ruth but she’s still very tired after her fall so decided to stay at home). The conversation was wide-ranging but when she started to tell us about her internet dating exploits Mr C covered his ears - too much for his pacemaker I think.
