Sunsational Sunday

Sssshhhhh.....don't tell anyone....or you might jinx it....but spring appeared in Mülheim today! I'm sure it was a mistake, but is that my problem? We took full advantage, just in case it slips away as suddenly as it arrived. Shameless, I know! But certainly you'll forgive me and keep this our little secret, right ;)

We did crazy stuff like wash bed sheets and hung them out in the sunshine and fresh air! And then, of all things, we had friends over to barbecue and dined al fresco!

It was quite a nice afternoon and evening. I'd met a woman through book club a few months ago who struck me as really fun and interesting. Wanting to get to know her better, I invited her to bring her family over for dinner. I'm fascinated by the stories of multicultural families. Patricia is Peruvian & Venezuelan while her husband is German. Their expat assignments took them on adventures in Columbia, Brazil, and Australia before returning five years ago to Germany. They have two sons close in age to my boys and the kids got along great, allowing us to enjoy a wonderful visit. These are the beautiful flowers they brought me.

Sunshine, friends, stories, food, flowers, wine & chocolate, too....and now to bed in fresh clean sheets... yup, I think we managed to pack most of the best things in life into one Sunsational Sunday :)
