Bright Boxes

We returned to significantly cooler temperatures and mostly grey skies today. One depressing glance out my window and I knew I had to add more color to my world. The patio planters had been bare since winter so I set out to correct that little problem. A quick trip to the local garden supply offered an easy and inexpensive cure.

As I've mentioned before, I'm fairly clueless about all things belonging to the green kingdom. I despise gardening and most things that grow don't last long if I'm meant to care for them (except kids; I do OK with the animal kingdom ;).

Twice each year (spring and autumn) I buy a small selection of pretty, colorful flowers with little to no regard for required growing conditions and more or less dump them into the planters and hope the sun and rain do their natural thing to sustain the poor plants. If anybody actually likes gardening, please feel free to come and play in my yard. I'll cook you nice food and serve you cocktails in exchange :)
