Out to lunch
Another changeable day - warm sun one moment, rain the next - which we spent primarily in the company of our grandsons and - intermittently - our #1 son. We worked our way round several massive roadworks to arrive at theirs for coffee, greeted fondly by Po the collie, whom we’ve not seen since his surgery.
Lunch was in Bloom and Wild in the St James’s Centre, familiar from several visits with granddaughters; our first choice of destination seems to be defunct though still online. We were intrigued by the arrival of a woman with a serious camera followed by a man with a reflective circle; they settled at a table near us and began taking photos of food …
I took the photo above while we were waiting for a bus; this quaint building is sandwiched between two fairly hideous 1960s type buildings and I love that its curtains are outside.
Just before we left the family the front-page-changing news about the BBC presenter came through and sparked a conversation that was interesting in its diversity. I’m currently watching Joanna Lumley in India and waiting for the ten o’clock news to start. I’d be adding an extra photo if I was on my desktop, but may not get round to it on the phone.
We’re both amazingly tired - is city life always so exhausting?
