Amandine's Plot Treize

Garlic

I had a superb garlic harvest last summer so I assumed this year was going to be dreadful (it tends to be a GYO rule that you can't be successful with the same crop 2 consecutive years!) but, judging by the first harvests, this year's garlic is looking good again!

The purple one is a case in point for no-dig: it's double the size of my autumn-planted garlic (and had half the time in the ground). I emptied my compost heap into a new bed, mulched with cardboard and bark. Then 3 months later I have those huge garlic bulbs. Just amazing!
