Scapa Flow

A bit of a dampner around mid-day so we repaired to the Scapa Flow Museum in Lyness.  It houses a very laudable exhibition explaining the strategic importance of Scapa Flow in both WWs.  Orkney housed 33,000 troops and 150,000 navy personnel.  We spent 3 hours there and merely scratched the surface.  We met The Hays.

We then went into the Hoy café and Erland served us mince 'n tatties on plain Westray loaf.  And broon sauce.  CMC had rhubarb crumble and, after my ice cream cone, l had a lie down.
