Another Damp Day in Kirkwall
July the first and the stove’s going full pelt. Into Toon for the obligatory dancing. Countess of Dunsmore’s Reel, Brisk Young Lad, Jim’s Haberdashery, Salmonfield Poacher etc. After every Monday morning dance session a few of us repair to the Toon Hall Café for a debrief. This morning the café was hooching because of the rain and a plethora of cruise liner passengers. Patience paid off and we got a seat with Cath. John and Ingi, through from Stromness, called in past. I got a few messages. Afternoon – paperwork for the Friends of the Hoy Kirk.
If you happen to be in Cullen this week look out for Mark Stephen (Out of Doors) and Lulu MacDuff (usually indoors).
Also, especially if you’re on the Moray Coast, don’t forget how difficult it can be to strike up a conversation about Bisto.
