Up at 6am to head to Cairnryan for the early boat to the Mothership, Nigels home town of Ireland via the unmissable and cheap David’s Snack Bar outside Girvan for breakfast £7 for bacon rolls, tea coffee and fruit slice. Bargain!
A minor glitch with the boats ramp being stuck so rather topically we were stuck inside the hold of the ship for nearly two hours. Very claustrophobic to say the least however a ramp was found and we got out unscathed
These Irish have a big families! Drove to Newmills to where his mum grew up and older brother Clive and wife Violet still farm and had a lot of cake, then Moneymore to the next brother John with his wife Ethel, some Steven and then to cousin Karen and all the rest of his cousins and Auntie Betty
Rather holy folk and the strongest drink on the table was Schloer. Still made for a fun night and a great game of Empire with their kids… no rude names this time round!
