Greek Festival
We enjoyed a great evening at the Greek Festival at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Finneytown. It’s a great event, with lots of wonderful Greek food, dancing, music and of course Greek pastries. This was their 48th year, and it has developed into a huge, very popular event, which runs from lunchtime Friday to Sunday evening. We try and go every year if we’re in town. They used to have a bit of a fun fair in one corner, but they’ve done away with that to make room for a bigger food tent and more people! It was a very warm evening, and I felt sorry for the dancers in the first part of the evening, as the stage area was in full sun. The dancing groups ranged from children, through High school, college age and adults.
By the way, don’t worry, we didn’t eat all the pastries tonight - they will see us through several days!
