Sun setting

We planned to go to Holyhead on the bus for a coffee and look around and then have lunch there.

We did eventually manage to get a good affogato- (espresso with ice cream) and then we wandered down the main street.

We passed a Plaque on a wall describing the Fortress of Cybi, which we were planning to come back and look at after we had lunch. But it didn’t work out so I just recorded here what we missed.

“This 1700 year old Roman fort is the historic heart of the town. It is named after Saint Cybi who established a church here in about 540 AD.

When it came to looking for somewhere to have lunch we walked a lot, only to find nothing! “The Harbor Front Bistro”- looked nice with a view of the harbor with ferries to Ireland, but it was closed on Mon and Tuesday.
Every single pub or bistro or fish and chip shop we tried was also closed. Well, at least we got our 10,000 steps in while we searched!
The toilets were also impossible to find or they were closed! Even Saint Cybi was no help in our predicament!

Eventually we gave up our search for both toilets and lunch and caught the bus back to our campsite. The lady bus driver must have guessed our predicament because I’ve never been on a bus that was driven so fast!

So we had lunch back at the van and afterwards a nap.

The sunset was a lovely end to a adventurous day!
