Forces of Nature
Some amazingly fabulous creations in the 'Forces of Nature' parade through the streets of Holmfirth town centre this afternoon, as part of Holmfirth Arts Festival. (More in extras.)
A lovely day. After a couple of chores I walked in to town for a couple of essentials and a browse around the shops. Also wandered in to the park as I can't resist the sound of drums! The drumming was just about over, but I stayed a while and listened to a band before a little more browsing. (Unfortunately no shorts or lightweight trousers to fit, so I shall have to go further afield...)
Then the parade, which really was fabulous. And all the participants seemed to be having so much fun!
After that I was feeling rather footsore, and headed back up the hill. Didn't stay there too long though - MrM arrived back from work at the bakery and the music shop and declared that he fancied a cooling beer. So we walked back to town and discovered O'Brien's bar, where we enjoyed a drink or two. (To my delight they had a good cider made only from apples!) The hill seemed very long and steep on the way back up for a late meal and an early-ish night!
