Valerian

After a damp start to the day, the weather improved this afternoon. Hung out a load of washing around mid-day, and it was dry by tea time. And, a little later, spent a few hours in the garden, weeding, cutting back (mostly spirea), and watering (the rain earlier hardly touched the roses in containers).

The red valerian in the front garden was almost fluorescent in the late-afternoon sun.
