The art of basket- making

Thank goodness the heat is over. After a fairly quiet Open Studios day I was glad at 5pm to close up and travel over to  Fintry,  a conservation village, in central Scotland, to visit some studios that had late night opening.

There I met  Sheila Patrick (Venue 10-Artbeat Forth Valley Open Studios) who specialises in traditional basket making techniques to make functional baskets (and yes I did succumb and buy one).
Her full time job is an IT administrator but she loves being outdoors and working with her hands.

This is a recurrent trend I have noticed these days with people working remotely on computers and choosing to live in idyllic rural locations.
