Portrait of a volunteer

Visited my friend and artist Christine McIver (venue 39) taking part in Artbeat Open Studios.
 
One of her current projects is painting the portraits of all the volunteers working at Bannockburn House; an historic listed a building, on the outskirts of Stirling saved for the nation by a community buy-out.

Sadly our annual Artbeat Open Studios event draws to a close today.
 
Yet again I have met many interesting new people who in the normal course of events its unlikely our paths would have cross.
 
Sometimes I think this is one of the main benefits of Art beat Open Studios.  It allows conversations between total strangers, using art as a catalyst, to bring people together, while renewing friendships and creating new ones.
