Mangia Fiori!
The delightful produce stands never disappoint! En route for another full day of mosaic gazing I had to stop at the corner fruttivendolo to admire the brilliant yellow zucchini flowers nestled next to the orange nectarines. Where was the squash? I’ve never cooked nor eaten squash flowers, even though I grow them every summer! I must rectify this lack. The obligatory extra is the original Byzantine mosaic pavoncella from which I copied my very first mosaic creation (you’ll have to swipe back to April to see that one)! This little bird shares an entire ceiling with other birds in the Chapel of St. Andrew.
