Peonies

Carol and I were comparing peonies today - she has a lovely pale pink one which is similar to one of mine. The ones I’ve chosen to photograph are a little fresher, though. They don’t last long, especially in this heat.

It’s been a nice sociable kind of day - work so busy that the day flew by, often challenging in the heat (another 30 degree day) especially for those working in the kitchen.

I visited Carol, did the shopping, came home for a little bit of gardening. D cooked the tea. We had a visitors asking if we had lost a dog (we hadn’t) and they turned out to be old acquaintances (Shona had taught Sarah and Joe) so we had a chat.
In the cool of the day I took Jess for a swim. Not that there is much water left to swim in, but she enjoyed it, and on the way home a nice phone conversation with Luke.
