Cool air

In an attempt to avoid the predicted heat, I got up early and went to the allotment where I spent a couple of hours ripping up layers of carpet and plastic sheeting that the previous occupant had laid down. The grass was growing up through it, so it was with some force that I had to tug and heave the layers away from the soil. Task completed I returned home covered in dust and feeling hot, but satisfied. I’m enjoying gradually bringing the plot back into shape and planning how I’d like to lay it out and what I will grow there.

I had just enough time to shower, sit down and cool off before a dog sitter lady popped over to meet us and Merlin. She is going to come to the house and care for him every now and then when Andy and I go out for the day or on holiday.

This evening it feels cool at 20 degrees and I’m lying with the windows open feeling quite tired after my exertions this morning. The birds are singing and cooler air gently drifts in.

Hope your day has been a good one.
