Siblings
We got to sleep in, pray and read this morning. Hubby ran out and got us breakfast. It took about an hour to reach the rescue squad where the reunion was held. We took a quick side trip into Soddy Daisy (where his Dad grew up), looking for the location of a choir camp hubby attended as a pre-teen. The food was delicious, the conversations interesting and all in all a great day. We got back to Chattanooga with time to spare for Mass so I’m writing this in the parking lot. One elderly cousin (oldest attendee at the reunion) found the family shot in the upper left corner among her stuff. Her daughter told her to start getting rid of unwanted memorabilia to make it easier for her later. Geez! Hubby ran in to another cousin who lives in TN not far from the house hubby bought for his family while still in the Navy. It was uncanny how many similar stories they had. I’m sure it won’t be their last exchange. We are meeting the siblings back at the hotel to continue the fun after Mass. They were making a wine stop…. Meanwhile Brooklyn and Parker both won their first tournament games. Wish I could be everywhere. At least I am getting photo updates. Mack says she and Millie are living life at home. Great news. Thanks for the visit. Stay safe and have an exciting weekend. “They say that no matter how old you become, when you are with your siblings, you revert back to childhood.” – Karen White
