A Room With A View

Not Florence , but Rome, where we arrived early evening after an incredibly smooth journey with no delays or queues, even down to our baggage appearing on the carousel just as we got there.

This is the view from our apartment window of The Michelangelo cloisters, part of the original Baths of Diocletian which were converted into a church and Carthusian monastery  based on a design by the great man. The work on the cloisters began in 1565, a year after his death.

We had time for a wander round the area, an aperitif in a bar opposite the opera and a pizza in a restaurant near the apartment.
