Hexbugs and Bouncy Balls
I think the events of the past week had finally caught up with me as the day’s prevailing condition verged between tired and exhausted.
The wee ones too - particularly m’boy - I think are still catching up from a busy school term and a traumatic week. One of their cats - to replace their cat who went AWOL from their mum’s place - was hit and killed by a car earlier this week and they were understandably devastated at the loss. The Youngest seems to be through it, but m’boy has been a little tearful throughout the weekend.
With some pocket money from his grandparents burning a hole in his pocket, he was keen for some retail therapy and requested a trip into town to buy hexbugs and bouncy balls. I did him one better and took us off to a boot sale on the A6, which was heaving, but had bargains galore to offer up! The main one being this hexbug.....lair for just £3 and some bouncy balls for £1. It kept him occupied for a good portion of the afternoon.
Later on we were joined by my parents for a slow cooked chicken korma tea, which seemed to hit the mark and we all became a little hypnotised watching the hexbugs chunter their way around the track.
There was a large box of Lindt chocolates left over from yesterday, so we all had a couple of those to finish the day with a sweet taste.
