Strange

Today we were up at dawn to go in search of Stone-curlew. We discovered an area nearby where they were nesting last year and sure enough, we managed to find 6 of them nearby. They were a long way from the path, so this photo involved my lens at full extension and some heavy cropping. 
They are such strange but captivating birds with their yellow beaks, eyes and long legs, and their habit of nesting out in the open. 
The weather is very strange. it is mostly bright and sunny - no sign of rain since our arrival, but there is a persistent North to North-easterly wind which makes it very cool and doesn’t encourage the birds to be out in the open as much as we’d like. Still, mustn’t grumble
