Up There
When it comes to posing, the Reed Bunting is up there with the Robin and the Stonechat. Today we did one of our favourite walks in the locality, which includes marsh and estuary, woodland and heathland, and as a bonus, a bench on the heath which has great views over the estuary. A great place to have a packed lunch. I’d hoped to add Reed Bunting, Reed Warbler and Sedge Warbler to my year list. The other two weren’t quite as obliging as this one but did put in an appearance. Sadly, there was no sign today of the Woodlark that we’ve seen up there in previous years. I hope that’s down to our poor spotting ability and not the disappearance of this bird which is limited already to very few areas in the UK
