A perfect day
Sometimes my human can't believe how lucky she is to have such a perfect life! #livingthedream
This morning the brightly shining sunshine was streaming through the windows so we got up early and went for a trek around all the beaches. It was absolutely beautiful.
As those of you who read our Blips regularly will know; Ann is writing a book – 'My life in lock down', and she had this romantic notion that when we came to Cornwall, she would sit on our sun terrace (looking out to sea) writing it. Honestly who does she think she is? Shirley Valentine? Today was the day that it was hot enough to set up her writing workstation outdoors. The writing experience was just as lovely as she imagined it would be. She wrote for 3 hours and every time she looked up from the laptop she could see the sea glistening in the sunshine.
Went for a walk along the lane and down onto the coastal path. I found mud. Yay! But do you know what?.................. I didn't get into trouble because Ann knew that there was a little stream on the way home where I could go for a cool down and that would clean me.
'Home alone' snooze time for me and Ann took herself off for a swim. She went to Porthminster Beach because we'd already checked out the sea conditions on my early morning walk. The tide was almost in and it was lovely and calm. Ann left her stuff beside the lifeguards and told them she'd only be in the water for 10mins. It was so lovely that she stayed in the sea for 40mins?!! She was pretty tired when she came home, though the walk up the steep hill didn't help so after a shower, she had to lie on her rocking sun lounger for an hour. Lol!
I went into MY field for a play at about 5pm and guess what?.................. the grass has been cut, so it looks like Cornwall isn't doing 'no mow May' after all. I spent ages just rolling around on my back on the newly cut grass. When we got back into the house, Ann had to lie down on her rocking sunlounger for another hour. 40 mins of sea swimming has worn her out.
Today has been a perfect day for my human................
When Ann thinks back to how awful life was in 'lock down' and how isolated she felt.................... today she would have been really annoyed if anyone had wanted us to go out to play. She had a plan for today which didn't involve anyone else. Guess it's all psychological. The minute you get told you can't do anything, you immediately want to do it.
Oh and if anyone is interested.................. 3 years ago it was day 53 of lock down and the rules between England, Scotland & Wales were becoming more pronounced. 3 years ago Ann thought 'Nicola Sturgeon' was the best thing since sliced bread!!! How times change. 3 years ago Ann was losing hope that she would ever have such a lovely day as she's had today.
And it's not over yet...................... My bed was becoming increasing covered in sand and dog hairs, so she's just hovered it and sponge washed it, so when I go to bed tonight it will be nice and clean for me. Yay!
Weather app is full of lots of sunny day symbols for the next week. Let's hope it's not lying.
