New Venue

You might be forgiven for thinking that this decorator’s set of steps has not come out a moment too soon, though quite what was about to happen next  is anybody’s guess unless it was that a passing pedestrian chose to commit the sight to the internet for posterity.

I had coffee today with three elderly Merchant Maidens, the significance being that it was not in Söderberg but in the Art College Café. Whoever knew that there was a café in the Hunter Building on Lauriston Place that the Edinburgh hoi polloi could use? Certainly not I, but I found it to be a delightful space overlooking the garden where once the Book Festival roamed.

Our chat was wide ranging once we had dealt with the vagaries of ageing and believe me these can become all consuming if one is not very careful. Two hours passed in the blink of an eye before we disbanded , walking swiftly and surely and not a stick in sight. In fact, now that I think about it, I was the youngest and the only one wearing glasses. I have no idea about teeth or hearing.
