Hockney
As we were up in The Ned for the night we decided to take in the immersive Hockney at the Lighthouse in Kings X. Our art critic friend said that it was thoroughly worth it as Hockney had been very involved and it was a real insight into his work and method. It was all that but it was huge fun as well. Hockney of course ‘paints’ on his iPad and is always interested in the cutting edge of technology. It was very peaceful sitting there surrounded by colour. Although I got quite a crick in my neck.
We came out into really cold rain in Kings X and walked through a fight on the tube. Peace gone.
V went off to various things, he was very sweetly staying up for me because of the rail strike. I popped to the office before meeting a visiting American agent in the Garrick. The Garrick. It is even more Garrick than it was the last time i went there…I won’t be rude on Blip but there was only one other woman in the dining room. Still my pale green suit blended in nicely in the powder room.
After that I spent the afternoon at the Royal Court at a very moving memorial event for an adorable brilliant writer called Robert Holman who died too young two years ago. Some wonderful actors read from his plays and old friends talked about him, including his agent, an old friend of mine who wept throughout her address.
I then zoomed over to Westfield where V waited to drive us home through rain and grey and traffic. Glad to see the house at around 9 after an emotional day!
