Chatterbox

This may be the smallest flower bed we have but it’s definitely the most talkative. Why, you ask? Because it has tulips! Hahaha…Okay, a bit of a stretch on humor but it’s the best I could come up with on short notice :) The pink ones are open but the purple tulips aren’t quite ready yet • We did get a light frost last night but no harm done. Today we planted a pot of pansies, added a blue creeping phlox to our phlox bed, and put some violas under the burning bush where it’s shaded • We set up the trellis for Cleo the Clematis, and added plant supports to two poppies and a peony • No hummer sightings yet but I changed the nectar in anticipation • You may remember me saying our bluejays disappeared last November and only recently saw one. My how things have changed. Yesterday evening we counted fourteen bluejays in the lilac trees!! Of course I obliged with peanuts • Our neighbors who winter in Florida arrived yesterday. They gifted us with a large cactus cutting saying “stick it in dirt, give it lots of sun, and it will grow” So that’s what we did • Off to puzzle and do laundry. Maybe a G&T, too • Cheers!
