ever decreasing circles

after work, I did the weekly shop and then went home to do the lawn mowing. This looked like the best day to do it, weatherwise - Friday and Saturday look promising but I'm working both days. As I drove home, some spots of rain appeared on the windscreen...but the black clouds passed by and at 4pm I was out, mowing in ever decreasing circles. I remember reading that in places where the corncrake nests, silage fields should be mowed from the middle (the reverse of my method) to allow birds to escape.

I set my watch to measure how far I walked with the lawn mower and it was 4.6km (3 miles!). No need to go to the gym today.

I went to look at the bluebells afterwards - they'll be at their best any day now.
