one of those days
We knew it was going to be a wet day today and not good for gardening, so Sarah and I made a list of things we had to get done and we worked our way through it. Some things went more easily than others. There were simple tasks like filling up the car with petrol and getting extra for the lawnmower. There were nice tasks like buying seeds and plants at the garden centre. There were difficult tasks like finding a place to stay near Keswick for 4 people and a dog for 3 nights in the middle of July which didn't cost an arm and a leg - that one is still not resolved. The day has somehow gone by and it's past 5pm and I'm feeling frustrated by not having been outside.I'm going to have to go for a walk before tea and get wet...but it's drumming tonight, which is always good, and a friend left a present of plants on the doorstep.
The photo is of the doorbell (which is NOT a doorbell) at the entrance to the Dumfries Registry Office. A sign (remnant of Covid times) says that the offices are closed to the public. They aren't...you just have to knock :-)
