Unusual blossom

The hound woke me twice last night.  Usually I can resume slumber but deep sleep was elusive when awakened.  Felt bleary much of the day. 
Today has felt like imminent rain and thunder. No sunshine at all.  The sky darkened intermittently, the air stilled and still nothing happened.  Maybe this evening.
Walking down our street this morning was very much after-the-party.  Scraps of burst coloured balloons and plastic ribbon strewn. And outside some houses plates left for collection.  Sorry looking bunting still up too.
