twinned with trumpton

The assault on the remaining Munros continued.

After a bright start at Morvich and having successfully negotiated the feral goats in the church yard, it was off to climb a couple of hills. Parking up by the A87, we stepped out into a sunny morning and toddled off up the stalker's path to the foot of the Forcan Ridge.

The precence of Her and the hound meant the ridge was never a serious proposition so we duly plodded around the side of the Saddle, overtook Brora's only St Mirren fan and set about the steep ascent onto the summit. Views in all directions; and not a soul about (until the boy fae Brora arrived, so we left him the summit to himself)

Retracing our steps to the bealach, then a sharp climb up to Sgurr na Sgine and Munro #2 of the day was duly nabbed. Loki onto 8; Her first ones in quite a few years and 234 for me / 48 left.

A most enjoyable high level meander across to Faochag in sunshine; high above Glen Shiel with light breeze to keep cool. Before the sucker punch of the descent.

With the forecast looking abysmal, we headed off, all high on endorphins towards Invergarry (to feed the dog) and Spean Bridge (to feed us)

As we dropped into Dalwhinnie the gloom descended and our 3 days of sunshine ground to a halt as we slithered gently homewards under brooding grey. In around 9, bed by 10. Zzzzzzz

Her and hound between Sgurr na Sgine and Faogach; the Saddle bathed  in sunshine as we headed downwards; extra is YT on the summit of Sgurr na Signe
