What should've been a quiet morning, but.... by the time I spoken to Paw and got the South Parish gossip, then hung the washing out, done some shopping, sped off to try and reclaim Her purse that was left in the hire van from the weekend, tell Tom his French Nat 5 on Monday was marginally more important than a trip to Pittodrie when he had a stinking cold and the safe securing of some roasted red pepper soup from across the road, I was ready for a lie down.
Suitably restored by mid afternoon, Alex and I snagged some cheap tickets to get us to Hamilton without passing through Glasgow (Falkirk- Cumbernauld- Hamilton) and tick off New Douglas Park on our quest to visit the homes of all 42 Scottish football league clubs.
Clyde were doing battle with East Fife and after a potter about the town we headed to the stadium for 120 minutes of tense fitba.
East Fife levelled the tie through a delicate chipped finish that he lifted over the advancing keeper in 10 minutes. Thereafter fear set in and not until the scorer got sent off in the 80th minute did we get an inkling as to who would prevail.
Eventually with 5 minutes before the penalty shoot out, Clyde managed to nick a goal and so we boarded the 2215 to Glasgow, back in Edinburgh for midnight and onto the early running last 47.
