A splash of yellow on a dull day

It has been a bit of a 'depressing' day weather wise. Cloudy dull sky, with bursts of wind and rain, along with intermittent sun briefly poking its head through the cloud, has been the order of the day. The wind has taken the last of the autumn leaves from the trees, so now we are left with a dull landscape, that we have come to know as winter.

In between the showers of rain, I went outside to have a poke around for a photo. I found lots of different fungi growing on tree stumps, but accidentally came across this lovely bright flower on a bush in our bark garden. I've no idea the name of the bush, but this is the first year, since we planted it five years ago, that it has flowered. It was so nice to see some brightness in my dull day, that this had to be my blip for today.
