Dancing hares and tulips at Wisley

Having heard from fellow blippers and also in various newspapers/ online articles I thought I would visit Wisley today…as at last the sun was shining. I got there by 10.15 and it was already very busy with several coach parties. However it was good to see the tulips, there are so many this year!

The statue of the Dancing Hares as described by other blippers, looked good surrounded by tulips.

The kitchen garden was also interesting as quite a few veg were growing well and you could see that they use a lot of fleece to protect the seedlings at night. Much more advanced than on our allotments!

It was also good to see that the old buildings have now been opened and there are very interesting displays about the History of the RHS, the training of gardeners and a history of the scientific work done in the labs there. I thought you had to book a time slot so had not planned to go today but it appears you do not so I popped in for a quick look and I  plan go again to look at it all properly when I have more time.

The cafes all had big queues so I did not stay for coffee or anything but did buy a few things in the shop!

Traffic on the A3 and into Esher very heavy with lots of temporary traffic lights.

Another medical appointment pm and more traffic hold ups through Kingston!
Nice that it was a sunny day though.
