New growth
The vines are now sprouting new leaves. The green of new growth is particularly attractive before the heat of summer dulls the colour. The drought is still with us but we have had a couple of showers in the past two days, enough today to prevent me playing tennis. However, French conversation went ahead as usual. There were only four of us but we had a good chat. I had to be up particularly early to drop Mrs TT off at the hospital to return her heart monitoring kit. She is hoping to make a further reduction to the pills she has been taking for some years. I did the market shopping in double quick time before going on to the supermarket. Prices continue to rise so not quite as deeply as in the UK. Nevertheless, I think the weekly shop costs us €20-€30 more than last year.
