Winter's back!

The following day the wind had dropped and there were even patches of sunshine. The forecast was for more storms so we agreed to cut short the stay by a day so the hut staff could close up. We snowshoed back down through deep fresh snow in glorious condition and the hut crew passed us gliding effortlessly past on perfect powder.

I was a little worried that our entry back into the tunnel might be blocked as the snow was right down the valley turning everything white. The little hire car was safely in the multi-storey and the road was nicely ploughed for the tourists, so we got back without a hitch.
