A Godless Sight
Mostly cloudy all day, with some sunny spells. That cold wind is still blowing.
Up fairly early. I managed to get Sammy's coat trimmed, then met friend Julie for walkies. Headed up to see big Brian and Madeline in their caravan. In the afternoon, I met mam, Jonny, nephew Alex, Laura, Shaun and Elise at the Dunrossness Sunday Teas, aunt Sandra and cousin Dawna were there too. Popped by Laura's on my way home, when aunt Alma, cousin Wendy and her boys came by. More walkies this evening, mostly lazy on the sofa.
For the past few years, it's been a horrendous sight seeing Shetland getting dug up and destroyed by such a large windfarm project. The latest stages in the development is the actual turbines being erected. The skyline across Central Shetland now has many ugly poles sticking up, now some at at their full height. With the blades still to go on, that will take them to over 153m. After a lovely day with family, sadly this godless eyesore of a development is the only thing I took a photo of! Taken on the Vidlin road, Loch of Voe.
