Marr picture framers

Popped out at lunchtime with Carolyn and headed up to my favourite picture framers, Charlie Marr on Ferry Road. I have been going to him for years as he is not only fantastic, but my god oh so cheap. None of this fancy front of shop thing for Charlie, just piles of wood everywhere and you wonder how a) he remembers what he is framing for you, and b) how he can find anything. Nonetheless he does a great job and for a fairly large picture, mount, frame and non-reflective glass he only charged £30. Conversation went like this: C "how much did I quote you", me "between £30 and £40", C "okay just give me £30".

It is only since I have started working in culture that I found out he does the framing for the National Galleries of Scotland, so you can't get a better recommendation that that. So a wee plug here for Charlie
