Hepatica

A parcel containing eight hepatica plants arrived for me today. I was so excited when I opened it.

I’ve been longing to have hepaticas in my garden for some time, so I tracked down a specialist nursery and studied their website. They recommended these Hepatica nobilis ‘Ashwood Blues’ as being the easiest hepatica to grow in British gardens, so that’s what I bought because I have never grown them before.

I think they’re so delicate and pretty, I do hope they will take and thrive. However, I’m aware they aren’t the easiest of plants to grow, and it can take a long time before they decide to grace a garden with their beautiful flowers. Hopefully it will be worth the wait.
