Packing Day
Most of our household items were packed today ready for uplifting into the container. There are only the kitchen items to be done in the morning, plus the fridge, washing machine and dryer. While these are being packed, the uplift team will be loading items into the container and by mid-afternoon tomorrow the house will be empty except for the things we are taking with us.
While the packing was being done, the tree man was busy in the garden removing two trees that were very close to the building, cutting the top off the hedge and trimming the flowering cherry tree. He’ll be back in a week to take the tops of the magnolia trees behind the carports at the bottom of the garden, but we won’t get to see that.
I went to my Pilates Class this afternoon and was overwhelmed and humbled that our teacher and the girls had two cute little gifts and two cards with lovely sentiments written in them. So generous and thoughtful of them. We went along to Auckland Joggers this evening but didn’t walk as I didn’t want to risk setting my back off again. Our little walking pack all had dinner together and they presented us with a card, again with lovely sentiments written inside. It is very emotional saying goodbye to people we’ve come to know well and whose company we enjoy.
I took a photo of the view from the balcony, another of the water and sky at Kohimarama Beach, our living room this morning and again this evening - quite a change.
