Uplift Day
This is a late posting.
The packers were on the job again at 8:30 this morning. They worked really hard and just after 2:00pm everything was packed loaded into the container and on its way. I was able to clean the shower, the bathroom cabinet and the drawers under the vanity unit as well as the shelves in the laundry, whilst they were packing, and as soon as they’d left we got stuck in and had finished the cleaning, except for washing the floors, just after 4:30pm. By that time we were exhausted.
We disappeared across the road to get some lunch just before midday, as our buyer came to do the pre-settlement inspection. We were relieved when my son-in-law called to say that it had gone well and the buyer was satisfied with everything. Steve called back later to say that the buyer was having some new furniture delivered tomorrow and the only time it could be done was at 7:30am in the morning, so that’s an early start for us again as we’re staying some distance away and the traffic will be bad.
We were sad as we left the apartment as we’d put a lot into it and it looks lovely and we’ll miss the view, but we’ve got our trip to Europe and the UK to look forward to and the excitement of a new adventure in Oamaru. We are now staying with my sister and brother-in-law and we spent an enjoyable relaxing evening with them before a reasonably early night.
The main blip is a last photo of the lovely view, the Mandevilla on the balcony and a beautiful Hibiscus that opened today. The extra shows the container just before the door was closed, the truck driving out of the driveway and our empty living room.
