Chaffinch

Another dreich day, best spent in the swimming pool. Alas, the teachers were on strike again and the pool was full of kids and recreational floatation devices... Ah well, we got a few hundred metres in.

Back home I've found a bit of the decorating which needs a bit of remedial work... nowhere in this blog have I ever claimed to be a DIY whizz... Still, I'm cheaper than most of the local resources.

Chaffinches are delightfully colourful birds and we don't see a lot of them here. Plenty of jackdaws and crows, blackbirds and bluetits, and a million house sparrows - mostly in the gutter above my study window.
