Betsy and I just finished this wonderful book. We were on a slight race to finish it as Betsy is going to hear a talk by the author tomorrow, lucky girl. Also speaking will be Sarah Crossan, the writer of The Weight of Water. Betsy read it and told me about it; a story of a Polish girl trying to fit in in an English school, while her mother tries to find her father who has deserted them both, written entirely in verse. I borrowed her school library copy and loved it.

She is also very lucky because Andy Mulligan, the writer of Trash, will be coming to her school to talk about the book which we both thought was just fantastic. Things like this did not happen at my school.

Went out shopping with Nibs today. Had a great day. Coffees, shops, lunch, shops, chat chat chatting all the while. Lovely!
