by Emily Dickinson
Much Madness is divinest Sense -
To a discerning Eye -
Much Sense - the starkest Madness -
’Tis the Majority
In this, as all, prevail -
Assent - and you are sane -
Demur - you’re straightway dangerous -
And handled with a Chain -
Church, where we cannot participate, but we always have the bread and wine, later, in the Adega Velha, see extra. Sad today, seeing how frail my old friend, Ângelo, seemed. And that another old friend has been banned because of bad behaviour while inebriated.
And another extra of one of the children who did the readings today. All the girls had big bows in their hair, and this one had a bow on the back of her red coat, and Mary Jane shoes - feels like another era. Sad as well, thinking how many children have been abused in the Church, where they should be loved and protected. Here, a BBC report on the recent findings in Portugal.
Gratefuls:

- waking to misty beauty, and then warm sunshine
- a day off from hard work (especially for Mike)
Now off to Sem Fim...
