Wings for superheroes
After a quiet morning I became a taxi service running a number of errands.
One of these took me for the first time to St Nics - a shopping centre in Lancaster. There there was this striking mural; Wings for Superheroes Lancaster by a local artist Sandy Gardner. There are many locations and symbols of the city depicted.
I have searched online to find a bit more detail but for the moment have yet to find much more than a story about the mural being vandalised a year or so back shortly after installation but subsequently restored.
I can see the Castle, the Ashton memorial, a plane which I assume represents a Lancaster bomber, the town hall, the millennium bridge and so on. I assume the swans are to be found on the river Lune. The artist likes wings it seems and a few years back had a mural where you could stand in front of it and take a selfie.
On a separate note I was in a pharmacy and spotted several boxes labelled in a manner which might have the Roald Dahl sensitivity readers hyperventilating. See the extra photo. They were not being sexist as there were similar boxes for males. It was of course for large packages of prescriptions but these days ………..
